The Consistency Rule measures how much of your total profit was generated on your best trading day.
To meet the rule, your highest net profitable day cannot represent more than the consistency percentage assigned to your account.
Simple formula:
Best Day’s Net Profit ÷ Total Profit = Consistency
Consistency During the Evaluation Stage
No Taurus Evaluation has a Consistency Rule. PRIME, FREES Safety and FREES Max Evaluations may each be completed in a single trading day by reaching the profit target and complying with all other applicable rules.
FREES Max Evaluations no longer have a 50% Consistency Rule, and there is no minimum number of profitable days for any Evaluation.
The Consistency Rule applies at the Profit Account stage.
Consistency by Profit Account Type
Profit Account Type Consistency Rule
PRIME 20% by default; it can be increased to 35% with the Consistency Add-On
FREES Safety 35% by default
FREES Max 35%
DIRECT PRIME 20%
A trader who completes a FREES Max Evaluation advances to a FREES Max Profit Account, where the 35% Consistency Rule applies.
The Consistency Add-On available for PRIME accounts provides greater flexibility by allowing the trader’s highest profitable day to represent up to 35% of the total accumulated profit instead of 20%. What add-ons are available?
Example: 50K PRIME Profit Account
Suppose a trader has a 50K PRIME Profit Account and wants to request a $1,000 payout.
Before requesting the payout, the trader must first build the required $2,600 Safety Threshold and then generate the additional $1,000 they would like to withdraw.
The total profit objective would therefore be:
$2,600 Safety Threshold + $1,000 payout objective = $3,600 total profit
This would bring the account balance to $53,600 before the payout request.
With the Standard 20% Consistency Rule
For the highest profitable day to represent no more than 20% of the $3,600 total profit:
$3,600 × 20% = $720
If the trader plans to request the payout after reaching $3,600 in total profit, their highest net profitable day must be $720 or less.
With the 35% Consistency Add-On
If the trader purchased the 35% Consistency Add-On for the PRIME account:
$3,600 × 35% = $1,260
If the trader plans to request the payout after reaching $3,600 in total profit, their highest net profitable day must be $1,260 or less.
PRIME Consistency Rule Total Profit Highest Net Profitable Day
Standard 20% $3,600 $720
35% Add-On $3,600 $1,260
What Happens If the Highest Profitable Day Is Larger?
The Consistency Rule is not a daily profit limit that automatically disqualifies the account.
A trader may generate more profit during a strong trading day. However, if that day represents more than the applicable consistency percentage, the trader must continue trading and accumulate additional profit before requesting a payout from a Profit Account subject to consistency.
As the total accumulated profit increases, the percentage represented by the highest profitable day decreases.
The total profit required can be calculated using the following formulas:
For a 20% Consistency Rule:
Highest net profitable day ÷ 0.20 = Required total profit
For a 35% Consistency Rule:
Highest net profitable day ÷ 0.35 = Required total profit
For example, if the trader’s highest net profitable day is $1,260:
With a 20% Consistency Rule, the trader would need at least $6,300 in total accumulated profit.
With a 35% Consistency Rule, the trader would need at least $3,600 in total accumulated profit.
This calculation allows traders to use their highest profitable day to determine how much total profit they must accumulate before meeting the applicable Consistency Rule.
Consistency Applies Per Day, Not Per Trade
The Consistency Rule is based on the final net result recorded for the entire trading day. It does not limit the profit generated by an individual trade.
Using the previous $3,600 profit objective:
With the 20% rule, the highest net profitable day compatible with that objective is $720. If the trader begins the day with a $500 loss and later generates $1,220 in profit from a single trade, the final net result for the day would be $720.
With the 35% rule, the highest net profitable day compatible with that objective is $1,260. If the trader begins the day with a $500 loss and later generates $1,760 in profit from a single trade, the final net result for the day would be $1,260.
In all examples, consistency is calculated using the net daily result, not the profit generated by an individual trade.
